Taking care of your LCD Monitor.
The latest monitors to storm the market are the super slim LCD and Flat Panel Monitors. So an LCD monitor needs special care, and not everyone is aware of this, and without the care they can be damaged. The bottom line is these monitors are a lot more sensitive when compared to CTR’s (Cathode Ray Tubes), and they are not able to take the same abuse as the CRT terminals might be able to.
Anti-Reflection Film.
Cleaners that have ammonia in them can damage the reflection material that the screens of LCD monitors are made from. In order to keep your screen from being damaged and help it last longer, only use cleaning cloths on these components that are not wood based.
You need to find alternates to Pledge and paper towels to clean your LCD monitor. For best results, turn the monitor off, and then apply wet, (only with water) when cleaning your monitor, and be sure to use a lint free cloth. Water can damage an LCD screen, so you should not apply water directly to it.
Screen savers help prevent damage to your monitors when not in use. An average LCD screen consist of a metal grid that charges a pixel to allow the desired color to be displayed. LCD monitors are made of plastic which are subject to ghost images when left with one image for too long due to ‘burn-in’. Although this form of damage is only temporary, it is recommended to avoid it when ever possible.
Lastly, you should never touch the screen of a LCD monitor as the pressure can damage the fragile pixels and cause them to turn black and never work again.
Images and graphics are generated by a computer, the monitor is the display screen that you look at. The best way to do it is selecting the best from several options. Ensure taking good care of your new acquisition, once you have decided on the type of LCD monitor you want.
