I’d previously made some videos of some of the easier songs on expert, so I thought I’d take a stab at something a little more challenging…

This is only the 2nd time I’ve ever played this one in Rock Band, so there’s some pretty nasty train wrecks in there, but I manage to get all the way through, and pick up an 11,581 point bonus on the “big rock ending”. I screwed up the free form section at 7:03 in the video and that threw me off for a bit also, but I managed to pull it out of the fire. Nothing amazing here, just me having fun playing Rock Band.

If you watch… I’m practicing singing the song while I’m drumming, my next experiment is going to be to try drumming this song on hard while singing it at the same time… LOL

I don’t know what the score on this take was, but my current high score on this song is 167,106 points on hard.

And to answer a couple of questions that come up all the time..

I’m not playing Rock Band on my PC, and it’s not “patched in” to my computer - I’ve got my Xbox360 hooked up to a KVM which connects it to a 19″ Viewsonic PS790 computer monitor. I did this using the VGA adapter that Microsoft sells for it - I bought it at Best Buy. Works great, and I really don’t care if you don’t like it.

Also.. Yes, I am a “real drummer”, although I didn’t really take it seriously and start taking lessons until this game came out. I had so much fun playing drums on this game that I decided to end 20+ years of dabbling and learn how to do it right. So for what it’s worth, I’m a newbie drummer that’s still learning. I had primarily been a guitarist (and you can see some videos of me playing guitar if you look at my profile), but I got kinda burned out on it and it took playing drums to rekindle my musical fires.

So if I ever get huge and famous (yeah, right!) I can say… Thanks Rock Band!
